In Tolt, groups help you organize partners, each with its own commission structure, signup link, and optional settings like custom URLs or privacy. A group can have many partners or just one, giving you full flexibility over how you manage and reward them.

Why groups are useful

Groups help you personalize commissions and manage your partner base more effectively.

💡 Example: You can create a group for influencers with a 30% commission, while other partners earn 20%. You can also create a private group with a custom landing page for exclusive partners.

This flexibility makes it easier to scale and manage multiple partner strategies.

Create partner groups

When you set up your first program, you’ll automatically create your first group. This group acts as your default unless you set another one later. You can switch the default group at any time.

Based on your plan, the number of groups you are allowed to create varies.

  • Basic plan: Up to 3 groups

  • Growth plan: Up to 5 groups

  • Pro plan: Unlimited groups

To create and manage groups:

  1. Navigate to Program settings Partner groups.

  2. Click the Create group button.

  3. Complete the Create group form.

  • Type the Group name.

  • Type a group description.

  • If you want to approve new partners manually for this group, switch the Make group private toggle on.

  • Add a custom website url.

  • If you want to add a code exclusive to this group, switch the Add group Coupon code toggle on and complete the section with the coupon details.

Custom commissions

Each group can have its own commission structure. You set this up using Flows, where you define rates based on products, time periods, or any other conditions you need.

Unique URLs

Every group also has a unique signup URL. When a partner signs up through that link, they’re automatically added to the group and see the group’s description and settings in their portal.

Group-specific website URLs

You can assign a Website URL per group if you want partners to promote a specific offer or landing page. If not, you can use the same URL across all groups. This works well if you run multiple campaigns or want certain partners to promote a different destination.

Custom fields per group

You can set custom fields to show only for a specific group. This helps personalize the sign-up experience depending on the type of partner.

To configure this, navigate to Program settings → General settings → Custom fields and assign fields to a specific group.

Public vs private groups

Groups can be:

  • Public: anyone can join

  • Private: manual approval required

You can mix both types, depending on how you want to manage access.
