When someone signs up through a partner link, Tolt records them as a lead for that partner. The lead stays with that partner even if they never pay. Lead expiration permanently deletes unpaid leads after a set number of days, so another partner can refer them.
Go to Program settings › Tracking & safeguards.
Under Attribution tracking, click the pencil next to Lead expiration.
Switch on Expire unpaid leads.
Under Expiration duration, enter the number of days. It must be at least your cookie duration.
Check the line under the duration. It shows how many unpaid leads are older than that and will be deleted.
Click Save changes.
Unpaid leads older than the duration are permanently deleted and listed on the Expired leads tab of Customers. From then on, each new lead is deleted once it reaches that age without paying.
Good to know
Leads with a transaction, a commission or a started trial are never deleted.
Deleted leads can't be brought back. Choose a duration long enough for your usual sales cycle, such as 60 or 90 days.
The Expired leads tab shows each deleted lead's customer, previous partner, when they became a lead, when they expired and why.
The duration can be up to 3,650 days. To change your cookie duration, see How partner links and tracking work.
To stop expiring leads, open the same setting, switch off Expire unpaid leads and click Save changes. Leads that were already deleted stay deleted.
For how leads are recorded, see Track sign-ups as leads.
