Set up a custom domain with Cloudflare

If your domain uses Cloudflare, make sure the CNAME record for your portal isn't proxied.

Written by Nick

If Cloudflare manages your domain's DNS, the CNAME record for your partner portal's custom domain must not be proxied. This is one extra step on top of the usual custom domain setup.

  1. Open your domain's DNS records in Cloudflare.

  2. Find the CNAME record for your portal domain, the one pointing to domains.tolt.io.

  3. Turn off Proxy status, so the record shows as DNS only, and save.

Your partner portal now loads correctly on your custom domain.

Good to know

  • Some Cloudflare features, such as Rocket Loader, can stop your partner portal from loading correctly when the record is proxied.

  • Your portal is still protected: Tolt serves custom domains through its own Cloudflare account.
