Set up postbacks for partners

Let partners send customer and commission events to their own URL, to sync with their tools.

Written by Nick

Postbacks let partners receive a request at their own URL whenever one of their customers or commissions is created, updated or deleted. Partners use them to sync data to their backend or other tools.

Postbacks are in beta.

Turn on postbacks

  1. Go to Program settings › Tracking & safeguards.

  2. Under Partner tools, switch on Enable postbacks.

Your partners can now set up postbacks in their partner portal.

How partners set up a postback

  1. In the partner portal, go to Settings › Postbacks.

  2. Create a postback with a name, the endpoint URL and the event types to send.

  3. Open the postback and click Test URL to check the endpoint.

Each postback has Postback logs. Open a log to see the request payload and the response data.

referral.created, referral.updated, referral.deleted

Payload format

Every postback sends a JSON payload. This is a commission event:

"id": "comm_1234567890",
"type": "reward",
"amount": "5000",
"status": "pending",

Customer events also include a params object with the parameters of the partner link the customer came through. This JSON payload is for a customer who came through https://example.com?utm_source=test:

Failed deliveries

Tolt sends postbacks in the background. If the endpoint doesn't respond, Tolt retries after 1 minute, then 2 more times, 5 minutes apart. Retries stop if the partner deletes the postback or you turn off postbacks.
