Manually add a customer

Create a customer and credit them to a partner, for referrals Tolt didn't track on its own.

Written by Nick

Add a customer by hand when a partner referred someone Tolt didn't track, such as an offline deal or a referral from before you set up Tolt. Tolt credits the partner you choose.

To bring a customer in from Stripe, Paddle or Chargebee instead, see Import customers from your payment processor.

Add the customer

  1. Go to Customers and click Create customer.

Create customer form with Partner, Date, Name and Customer email fields
  2. Under Partner, choose the partner who referred the customer.

  3. Fill in the customer's details:

    • Date: when the customer signed up.

    • Name: optional.

    • Customer email/identifier: the email or ID you use for this customer.

    • Subscription ID: optional. The customer's subscription ID in your payment provider.

    • Status: see Customer statuses.

  4. To record a payment at the same time, switch on Create transaction and enter the Amount and Date. Fill in Product ID, Billing Type, Interval and Charge ID if your flows use them.

  5. Click Create customer.

The customer appears on the Customers page and on the partner's profile. If you added a transaction, Tolt runs your flows on it and creates a commission wherever one matches.

Good to know

  • You can also start from the partner's profile: on the Customers tab, click Create customer and choose Create manually.
