Pay a commission on sign-up

Pay partners a fixed amount for every new lead they bring in, before the customer pays.

Pay partners for sign-ups, not just payments, for example $5 for every new lead. Use a flow with the New signup trigger.

Before you start

Tolt needs to record sign-ups as leads. See Track sign-ups as leads.

Set up the flow

  1. Go to Flows, click Create flow and then Create your flow.

  2. Give the flow a name and description, choose the partner group and click Continue.

  3. Choose the New signup trigger and click Continue.

  4. Keep Generate commission, enter the amount and choose how to approve the commissions.

  5. Add conditions if you need them, then click Create flow.

Every new lead a partner brings in now earns them the amount you set. On the Flows page, the flow's trigger shows as Lead created.

Good to know

  • Sign-up commissions are fixed amounts only, since there's no payment to take a percentage of.

  • Sign-ups are easy to fake. Consider approving these commissions manually or after a delay, and switch on safeguards such as Block self-referrals.

  • Your payment flows keep running as usual, so a lead who later pays earns the partner both commissions.
